DP Theory of Knowledge Exhibition 2021

This week we were delighted to be able to host our first TOK Exhibition for the new TOK course (First exams May 2022). We were delighted to invite G12 parents, as well as G5, G10 and G11 students to talk to the grade 12 as they explained their thinking and helped to clarify their learning around these big ideas. We are so proud of the deep thinking and compassionate engagement accomplished by our Senior Class, and we cannot wait to see what challenges they take on next!

In this exhibit students selected one of 35 knowledge questions prompts exploring such conceptual themes as “Who owns Knowledge?”; “Are some things unknowable?”; “How might the context in which knowledge is presented influence whether it is accepted or rejected?”; “Are some types of knowledge more useful than others?” and “In what ways do our values affect the production of knowledge?”. Through careful reflection on their learning and the world around them, students curated a collection of 3 objects of personal significance and explored how these objects helped them better understand the key concepts of evidence, certainty, truth, interpretation, power, justification, explanation, objectivity, perspective, culture, values and responsibility.
