Families purchase and own the laptop outright. Each incoming Middle and High School student (Grades 6-12) is required to have her or his own laptop. If you already own a laptop, you can use this instead of purchasing a new machine as long as your current laptop meets ISL requirements.
These are the minimum requirements needed in order for our students to be able to operate school/teacher specific software requirements.

All computers must have enough disk space to be able to install necessary software for curricular.
We highly recommend that you purchase antivirus software and/or Internet Security, which will include anti-malware and other security features.
Choose a retailer that has a good after sales service. The ISL IT Team can help with minor issues but we recommend taking your machine to the retailer and for any serious issues, as they will have the warranty. Sometimes it is worth paying a little bit more for an extended warranty.
