Update on ISL Strategic Planning

In March the ISL Council committed to reviewing its strategic documents and direction moving forward. To assist in this process they engaged an experienced international education consultant to lead this process. Since April  Dr Andy Page-Smith has been working with all of the school's stakeholders through focus groups and virtual cafes to capture the entire community's feeling and thoughts about the school and where it should be heading in the future.

In particular he has been asking what the school should continue to keep doing, do differently or change. He has also been looking carefully at our current strategic documents, such as our values, vision and mission to determine, are they true to who we are?

So after conversations with over 250 community members he is now collating and analyzing that data to present to a group of students, parents, teachers, staff and the School Council at the beginning of October to review. The aim is that before the end of the calendar year suggested changes to the strategic documents and schools strategic direction can be adopted by the School Council and work can then start on action plans of how to achieve these goals and aspirations.

I would like to thank all of you who have engaged in this process and if for any reason you have not been able to share your thoughts or comments with Dr Page-Smith or members of the leadership team and you would like to do so, he would still like to hear from you, but quickly! He has asked that you write to him directly andypage-smith@academyish.org.

I look forward to sharing more about our findings and the future direction as this evolves over the next few months.

Sincerely,
Ronelda Capadona,
ISL Director
