  • 1992-1994
    The International School of Latvia (ISL) was founded in 1992 and became ‘incorporated’ in 1994, at which time it had 35 students.
  • 1995
    ISL hires its first overseas director.
  • 1997
    ISL moves to the former Bulduri Horticulture School campus. First graduates.
  • 1998
    ISL receives MYP authorization.
  • 1999
    ISL receives PYP authorization.
  • 2000
    In 2000, ISL opted for the Joint Accreditation Protocol offered by CIS/NEASC, an exercise that was repeated in 2010 when the school received Joint Accreditation from CIS and NEASC.
  • March 2003
    The Latvian and US governments sign the bilateral agreement concerning the status of private educational institution “The International School of Latvia”.
  • 2004
    ISL receives DP authorization.
  • 2006
    First IB Diploma graduates.
  • August 2006
    August 2006 the bilateral agreement comes in force after being ratified by the Government of the Republic of Latvia in June 2006 and the US Senate in July 2006.
  • August 2010
    ISL starts the building of the new campus in Pinki.
  • 2011
    ISL moves to its current campus in Pinki.
  • 2014
    ISL celebrates 20 years and adds apple orchard to campus and first modular classrooms.
  • June 2017
    ISL starts the building of the new extension.
  • September 2019
    ISL opens its new wing of 3688 m2.
  • October 2020
    Playground of 2020 m2 has been finalized and commissioned
  • December 2020
    Reconstruction of the gym in the area of 100 m2 and its second floor (a total of 200 m2) has been finalized and commissioned
  • March 2021
    Office renovation combined of office reconstruction 215 m2 and new office extension 135 m2 has been finalized and commissioned
