SAT

Welcome to the International School of Latvia’s SAT testing center webpage!

All students looking to take the SAT, should carefully review the information here in order to prepare themselves for SAT test day, and understand the expectations of the testing center.

Please review the site carefully, as well as all information from the College Board regarding enhanced health measures related to COVID-19. Students who do not adhere to the posted community health guidelines may be denied entry to the facility on test day. All test takers are responsible for knowing the information on this site as well as any additional information issued by the College Board.

In accordance with the College Board requirements, once you arrive at the ISL testing site, all students and staff need to:

  • Wear a mask while at the test location and during testing. Students may remove their mask for ID verification during check-in. Students who don’t agree to this requirement will be dismissed.
  • Students and staff are required to wear masks at all times inside the testing site.
  • Students must be seated at least 3 feet apart during testing.
  • Students must confirm a series of statements (see below) prior to entering the test center or testing room. Testing staff will deny entry to any student who doesn’t confirm all the statements below or if a student refuses to answer them:
    • You do not have Covid-19 or reason to believe you have Covid-19. You do not have symptoms of Covid-19 (cough, fever, chills, shortness of breath, sore throat, or new loss of taste or smell).
    • You agree to wear a mask the entire time you’re at this test site.
    • You agree to follow the health and safety guidelines in place in this test site as instructed by the ISL testing staff. NOTE: Testing staff will follow the most stringent guidelines in effect for this site.
    • By entering the testing room, you’re accepting the risk of Covid-19 exposure. While we have taken measures to help create a safe environment, unfortunately it isn’t possible to remove all risk.

Please note as well:

  • If a student is being disruptive to the testing environment due to excessive coughing or sneezing, they may be asked to leave the testing center.
  • Students who violate any of these requirements will be dismissed from the test center. If this happens, your scores will be cancelled and you won’t receive a refund.
  • We expect all those entering the testing center to have followed local Latvian requirements regarding self-isolation if unvacccinated and traveling into Latvia from a high risk country. Please check this list of countries to see which countries require self isolation. If you are expected to be in self isolation after traveling into Latvia, you will be denied entrance into the testing site.
  • Upon entering the testing site, we will also gather basic data, such as telephone number and email addresses from you. This is in the event that there is a notification of a positve Covid case on that testing day at our testing site, so that we can inform you for contact tracing.

In addition, please note that while ISL is an SAT testing center, we cannot register you for the test, confirm your registration, or process payment of any kind. All of this should be done through the College Board directly. Dates and deadlines for registration, as well as types of testing available at respective administrations, can be found here. ISL may not be open for all sittings of the SAT; you can confirm whether the center is open for a given date through the College Board website.

Information regarding arrival time and what to expect on test day can be found at this link. This includes information related to what identification students should bring with them as well as what items are allowed and not allowed in the testing center. Please do review the expectations regarding calculators closely; students who are found to be using an inappropriate calculator may have the calculator confiscated and can potentially run the risk of being dismissed from the testing center.

ISL does not provide test preparation for the SAT, and as such, does not endorse a single test preparation organization. Official support can be obtained from the College Board directly, or their official partner, Khan Academy.

We hope that the above information has been helpful. Should you have any questions regarding security or health protocols, please feel free to contact us directly. Again, please note that we are not able to register students for the test, confirm registrations, or process payments of any kind; all of this must be done through contacting the College Board directly.
