Students in the elementary school have music classes twice a week. Depending on their grade, students may learn to play various instruments, how to read music, and sing different songs. There are also units on acting and music from many cultures. Grades 4 and 5 learn to play the ukulele. There are many after school activities in music.
MYP/Middle School/High School Students
Students in grades 6-12 may audition for the school’s drama production. This year it was the large musical show of Honk! Jr. Students usually rehearse twice a week in the winter season as part of the after school activities program. Students may also be part of the backstage crew.
Many MYP students are part of the band program. There are at least two performances a year for the bands, as well as the possibility to travel and perform in the CEESA Middle School Honor Band.
For the 2016-2017 school year, we will also have a non-audition choir for grades 6-12. These students will rehearse during two of their afternoon break times every week. There will also be performance opportunities for the choir.
