Speech and Debate (Gr.6-12)
Public Speaking is an essential skill, and an extremely helpful talent to develop for many careers and areas of life, yet some people are fearful of it. Our group will prepare & deliver talks in the categories that are used for CEESA competitions: Impromptu (very brief prep), Oratorical Interpretation (reading other famous speeches aloud), Original Oratory (speeches written by the student), Duo Interpretation (2-person dramatic acting), and Formal Debate (2-person teams). If there is enough interest, we may attempt to enter a tournament together later in the year. Whether you like performing or just want to try and overcome a fear of giving speeches in front of others, come join our group.
